Remarkable Saint Louis oak, Futaie Colbert biological reserve - Forêt de Tronçais - Allier. This oak was struck by lightning on its northeast face. It has remarkably sectorized its non-functional zone. It shows no signs of senescence. Born in the 16th century on a boundary that marked the perimeter of the Forêt Royale along the Etang de Morat, it is located in the Fûtaie Colbert 1 biological reserve. Circumference: 6 m; Height: 34 m; Origin: 16th century. The Tronçais forest is considered one of Europes most beautiful oak forests. It was awarded the Forêt dException label in 2018.
