The Fontaine de Viljot in the heart of the Tronçais forest reveals one of its legends - Allier. Clear and abundant, it is by far the most beautiful fountain in the forest. Its very accessible, and very well laid out by the Eaux et Forêts, who, in 1900, inscribed the cement coping with an inscription dedicating the fountain to Velleda. One legend has it that the fountain springs from the site of a sunken city. On Christmas Eve, during midnight mass, when you lean over the water, you can hear the distant echo of the bells of the buried church.
